I knew what was lost, and knew I wasn't getting anything back I just wanted no violence, so I played it friendly, focused on the dog, de-escalation though he wanted to jack me up physically. Left safely.

Sigh.

I don't know how you could have prevented this. I would say you were straight up robbed, not scammed. I probably would have done the same, but the vengeful side of me says it isn't over until I get a payback. Sorry this happened.
