Sounds almost identical to my experience there, except after paying for the hour I was out in 30 minutes. Did you get the full hour?

Yes, I got the full 60 minutes. Although I didn't feel rushed in the way that I have at a couple other spots, I also don't doubt that she would have said goodbye earlier if I'd finished sooner.
