Completely out of the blue, I just received a text from a "424" area code & whoever it was knew my real name--as in, legal name, because everybody who knows me calls me by my nickname. This gal, whoever it was, threatened to "expose" me for soliciting prostitution. She then said she was "inboxing & faxing" (who uses a fax machine anymore? Screenshots of my SA messages of me trying to pay for sex. She also reminded me her "connections run deep. " Oh boy. I'm a zero-drama guy so I just replied "LOL, bye" & blocked her.

Anyone dealt with this type of stuff before?

One, I never give out my real name to any of these girls until I've vetted them in person. Two, I never discuss sex or sexual details on SA for fear of being banned so I have no idea where these "screenshots" she references are. Finally, she didn't identify herself after I asked her to. Nonetheless, I have a pretty good idea who it is, & she's pretty well known to this Board.

I've been generally pretty lucky avoiding the really dangerous batshit crazy ones until now. Normally, I'd roll my eyes & write this one off without concern except she knew my real legal name. Worried? No. Concerned? Yes.

I got what sounds like the exact same message on my GV app no. I think it was also from area code 424, but don't remember as I quickly blocked the number and deleted the message. Don't remember "her" using any name at all. Like you, I'm concerned (and deleted off some old message strings with girls I'm not actively communicating with), but not terribly worried.

She could have paid for one of those reverse lookup sites if so. If using a burner or text app that's concerning. I wouldn't worry about it though.

In the last week or so I've gotten two different texts threatening me because I "wasted their girl's time" and if I didn't pay up they'd find me. I use an app not registered to a real name or email though so I just play along with them or ignore them. Both instances they left me alone afterward.

You can remind women like this that extortion is a federal crime and a felony, to boot. She's incriminated herself with that text and there isn't anything more the FBI has to do before they arrest her.

That's about as threatening as some loser with road rage who flips you off and honks at you. You did the right thing, flipped her back off in return and blocked her. The world is full of crazy people. Her threats aren't even threats. Just a rant, but I wish guys would quit simping on these girls on SA and SDM. SDM has a feature that you can see where other people have either commented on a profile or pic and it shows it publicly. Kind of an odd feature, but anyhow, I swear all these guys are the reason these girls get GPS and want so much $$.
