You're not making any sense. I assume you monger with your OWN money? Accountants have nothing to do with how you spend your money. You can throw all that money in the Hudson river. Its your freedom and right.

The reason I asked was because if you are not trying to write if off it isn't business of any accountant.

Your accountant doesn't need or should they be looking at your bank statements.

Unless you make big big money and plan on itemizing, which you only need receipts for, you will take the standard deduction and move along.

Only thing you accountant needs from you involving your bank is the end of the year interest statement if you made over $10 in interest.

Hey why'all, recently I broke up with my gf so I've been looking more into well whatever this is haha. After reading through the forums I've figured out most of the acronyms and that sort of stuff and I'm kinda intrigued by DDY as well as NYAF. And if you are using a business account to draw cash to pay for stuff, you can just write it down as entertainment / meals but be ready to have receipts if there was ever an audit.

Accountant would not be asking on your personal accounts, in fact, they won't even know your Bank Account Balance unless you have a Book Keeper which is different than an accountant who.

S just doing your taxes at year end. A Book keeper that tracks all account payables and receivables. If you have a full time accountant then I'm sure you can just tell them to write it off as entertainment expenses. Most people just have some dude doing year end taxes and they will never get to ask these kind of questions.

This will be my first time doing taxes since I started mongering. What do my fellow mongers tell their accountant about their "expenses"? Do they tell them anything? I feel like some explanation is going to be required in my case, especially if my bank statements from the last 6 months are being reviewed haha. Feel free to PM me if more appropriate. Thanks.

The high prices in NYC are both a blessing and a curse. Its true that FS is more expensive here than pretty much anywhere in Europe or Asia, and that does suck. On the flip side though, these high rates attract some great talent from abroad. For example, its because of these high prices that young Japanese hotties continue to come to NYC in droves. So in a paradoxical way, these high prices we all complain about are part of what makes the NYC scene as good as it is.

Manhattan GFE is amazing, but expect to pay at least $320 H to get your foot in the door.

Just curious. I never show bank statements at tax time. All the accountant sees is the interest statement. Not even that, unless he asks for it (which mine does). Even if it did show the withdrawals, it's none of his biz.

But if you're doing this from a self-employed account, yeah maybe you need to sort that out. Not sure how you'd do that.
