I have worked and played in the shittiest neighborhoods of Minneapolis, Chicago and Milwaukee. I never experienced a problem in all these years. It wasn't until recently when I was picking up my ATF on Harrison, have I come close to anything. As she was getting in the car, we heard several gun shots from the street behind us. She even said, "those are gunshots", as I pulled her in the car and hit the gas with the door barely closed. I never heard after that whether there had been a police response. I'm not from the area but did visit the SW scene occasionally. I witnessed two shootings. Once I was the first to call 911. I believe this because the 911 operator did not believe me until they started getting other calls. The shooter was about 50 yards from me shooting wildly with a hand gun away from me at a car about 100 yards away from him. The second time a guy hanging out a moving car shooting, I thought, at a swarm of cops that had a street shut down. The cops thought he was shooting at me. If so he's an awful shot because his shell casings were bouncing off my vehicle but he missed me completely. Both were daytime, early afternoon shootings. So yes, this is a normal daily event in Milwaukee. The cops were not in shock or in a state of disbelief. More, just another day at the office kinda thing. When I breifly lived on the north side I quickly made friends with many people. I lost 3 friends to murder, two that went to prison for shooting people, and two to their own stupid driving. (In two years). Also had some friends survive getting shot. I still never feel uncomfortable in Milwaukee day or night. I guess when its my turn, its my turn. Got to go sometime. But if getting shot bothers you, you may be safer in south Chicago. I've worked night shift in the worst areas down there and never had a problem. A few "full service" strip clubs and a respectable SW scene.

What park and ride? I've used the parking lots semi near conejitos under the highway but twice, as I left, a security guard was sent to check on me so never again. It's by those cream buildings.
