So I'm the one who called out the guy who was asking about DI and said he was lazy. I did so because there is literally a whole thread to it on the Indianapolis forum page. I have no shame calling someone out for literally not reading what is in front of them.

RTFF is well known for good reason. This case was textbook RTFF but it kind of got lost in the discussion about telling people to search. It comes up too often and I've seen the arguments get pretty stupid. Just hoping to not have to listen to it so much.

I agree that just calling people out isn't helping anyone. I also realize that many people are confused by the search here. The search box that's always in the top right is useless to people who aren't tech savvy enough to navigate the advanced search. Most people don't seem to see the search function within each thread. I've posted about this several times but I've been moderated most of the year so my late appearing posts are often missed.

Yes, some people are just lazy and want the info handed to them but, when they see they can find the info in a minute or two instead of waiting for someone to answer their post, they're usually more willing to try the search more.

If more people will give periodic reminders of the easiest way to search and we try to use all the right keywords in our posts (especially all provider names and nicknames) this stuff won't come up so much. We're seeing a lot of bogus posts lately by advertisers and scammers; these guys need to learn how to use the tools to tell what's real and what's fake.
