Thanks for that perspective. I also disagree that everything about SA is short term. It might be for him, but he's in no position to speak for everyone. I have truly enjoyed several long-term arrangements I have had, and my last one, she had to relocate out of the lower 48 for work, but every time she is back home visiting her family, we FC. If she were still here we'd still see each other weekly, we have that strong a connection. I saw her at Thanksgiving, we had this exact conversation, and she agrees completely with that. Of course, we know we aren't a long-term match for a committed relationship. I've been married 2 decades+. What I think is the max you can expect from an arrangement is the *intention* that you are going to continue to see someone, but of course that is just until something happens. One of you gets a job in a different location, perhaps she meets a dude she wants to date vanilla, or your wife finds out you've been banging a 20-something.

I have also had a lot of fun w / girls I've seen only once (mostly when traveling) or a few times, we didn't match well for a continuing arrangement.

Yeah in my case I have only been using seeking since I got divorced, so have been single the entire time. The 2. 5 year one, that was not an arrangement, we were just vanilla dating, despite an age gap of over 20 years. There is a decent chance I will end up in another relationship at some point with someone from seeking. I also remain friends with the first chick I ever banged from seeking way back in 2014. Yes I prefer the casual encounters too, but come to think of it, given the entire goal is BBFS with a UTR, it's best to come across looking for "monogamous" and "emotional connection" even though we all know everything about seeking is short term.

I encounter it fairly regularly (like when an SB is getting the hint that the new and shiny factor is wearing off for me, and suddenly she has the idea maybe we could date without sugar in order to keep me around), but only within a certain age bracket (maybe 25+ on average).

But, what I'm seeing now is a little different. It's the girls who make clear they are in search of a long-term relationship and ask me explicitly to not ruin it by talking about ppm or allowance.

Is that really sugar-optional? I don't think so. I still think the majority of them still want their hands in my pockets, they would just like it to be under the successful boyfriend / young girlfriend way of doing things rather than anything like an official specified amount.

If that's what you're looking for (and I know some folks are), then yes probably a different approach in the profile to indicate that's what you want would attract more of what you want. I try to craft my profile in a way that it doesn't limit opportunities. That's not always easy, because if I say I want casual & NSA, the girls who want BFs won't react well to it, and if I say I want a LTR, it might land me more cheap or free pussy (at the expense of lots of texting) but turns away the casual encounters I actually prefer.

They never tell you what you get banned for on any of these sites. This was before I ever said anything about sugar dating. It was just regular conversation on Bumble. I always tried to be polite and respectful, but maybe I told one she had nice cleavage and she flew off then handle, or who knows. I'm sure I'll get banned on there again eventually, because it's just a minefield filled with crazy women, and they will complain and lie about you, for anything.

Well that's complete BS if you've paid for a lifetime. They should refund you.

When I asked for one with a specific pose she pouted. Normaly I'd immediately cut off and move on, but her chatting doesn't have the usual hallmarks of scamming, and she hasn't asked for $.
