Yes, if an unvetted provider asks for a deposit, you are about to get scammed. Location was in a low part of town; typical gritty working class neighborhood. Houses are close to each other and I didn't relish parking out front in case a noisy neighbor might be recording plates so I parked at the park down the street and walked over.
