Agree. I've never had an issue giving out my room number. But I also stick to higher end, well reviewed independents.

I know, I know, I'm a damn tourist paying top dollar raising up everyone's rates. But I'd rather pay extra to ensure my safety a little bit more then take the chance of ending up on the wrong end of a bad situation.
