Ask him where he wants the money sent. You can report the account to the account provider as a scam or blackmail. If you saved the message, you can go to the police and report blackmail. They actually do investigate. It's actually a federal crime also. If they have your phone number and have used it to gather the other stuff, LE & Feds like those cases. Just saying. Good luck and buy a Tracfone burner. It's a good investment.

First, take down your social media stuff. Stop putting any cell number on social media, it allows people to find you via your phone number! Never use your real name in this hobby. Get a burner phone or phone app. Don't use a work cell phone since that can get you fired.

Ignore any threatening text. If you don't acknowledge it, they don't know if it even reached you.

Publish the number the thug was texting you from or send it in a PM. It's very easy to fuck with people like that by promising them cash and then they show up and get arrested for blackmail.

A little freaked out over a text I received in the middle of the night. I had a missed call, with no message, tried calling back and went strait to a machine. The texts were from an alleged father of a skip the games worker, stating that I had solicited his underage daughter and that he knew about my address, work and spouse, and that if I did not send $500 to help paying for their daughters rehab he would resort to filing with the police. I have never met with anyone from Skip the Games, and told him so (though I have texted some on there, stupid not using a side number, but never met any as most STG seem too sketchy / scam like). He then proceeded to send photos from facebook of me, my wife's profile, and let me know he knew about the home I purchased this year, and that he would inform all of my neighbors of the sicko they live next to, etc.

Obviously a bit freaked out, and unsure what to do / if this is a real threat. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen? Any advice?

Just block the number. Also, get a google voice, or other number and stop using your real phone number!

Common prison scam, they also use all the "normal" dating sites like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, etc. Actual law enforcement would not contact you without it being a warrant at your home or pulling you over on the side of the road near your home. If you play along for long enough they will even tell you to get XXXX gift cards or prepaid visa / MC cards to drop at a location.

I had a somewhat similar scenario many many years ago back in the Craigslist days. Not with a provider ad, but a civilian who was "in town" and looking to meet up. They definitely did their homework and were able to answer all the questions I had about where they were staying in Charleston and some other stuff. Sure had me fooled, and I actually gave them my real FB profile. Then they hit me with the blackmail.

Like others stated, just ignore them. If you pay them they won't stop threatening you and will keep demanding more money. Like German said, they are probably doing this to dozens of guys at once. It's organized. If you block them they will move on.

It's amazing the info people can get just from your phone number. Google your own number and see what comes up. Learn from this and protect your identity at all costs. Don't ever give out anything personal to anyone. And never ever use your real phone number.

I've been there and it sucks and is stressful as hell. I definitely learned my lesson and I hope you do as well.

Do not respond to them. Block the number and keep blocking the follow up attempts from another number. They will go away. You aren't the only one they are trying to fuck with. It's a shotgun approach for them.

So last night I scheduled a meet with Karoline for this morning at 9. As agreed, I called her at 8:30 to get the address. No answer. Sent a text and called back about 30 minutes later. Still nothing Feeling horny so I made the big mistake of trying to find something on short notice. Called Sienna and she picked up the phone and set a time 30 minutes later.
