Most of the good clubs would be along Michigan Aveor that general area which is in the city of Dearborn. As some have stated both areas have good and bad areas. You could also stay down near the airport which is very close to both LS, landing strip city location is Romulus & FC flight club city of Inkster, Both of those clubs are usually rated top notch. 3rd best club on Michigan Ave in Dearborn would be BTs, near the western border with Detroit.

I like the hart plaza area hotels, always felt safe in area. All freeways fan out all direction from there with easy access. Come October who knows, but Southfield always seems attract what your looking for.

I live in the far northwest of the D, but I do know a bit about both Southfield and Dearborn. There are both nice and sketchy hotels in both cities. I personally would feel safer, on average, in a nice part either city before staying IN Detroit. That said, if you stay in Detroit you can go to either city in 15-20 minutes IF road construction does not interfere (it's orange-barrel season in MI).

JFC dude, I am dumb. I just need to look at my history correctly. It was Southfield off of 8 mi. When I said Gratiot I was looking at an older address I had used for actual business needs. My bad. Like I said in the report, I'm based in A2 so I don't know Detroit as well as I should.
