The cost of living is affecting everyone. So I'm not super surprised that the providers would ask for more.

I understand that a provider isn't going to work 8 hours a day every day. If a provider were to see one client a day on weekdays (5 a week) and keep a full 52 year work week they would gross $104,000.

The average salary in PDX is $69,774 a year. So an average guy has to work around 16+ hours (after taxes) for $400 cash.

Then you have the factors of looks, personality, reviews, menu, etc. The only thing I have seen really reflect in provider rates is age. The mature providers seem to ask for less yet almost always have the best reviews. Which is maybe a statement on our society and how we value elders. No matter how drug worn, bad reviews or alerts, it seems that all donations run the same. I get that too, who wants to value themselves less than someone else? That sucks.

Then TNA when down and you have sites like Tryst where it is pretty common to see $500+ listed.

The only thing I can really think of is that there is enough high-salaried people with low expenses (single, no kids, paid off home, and other factors) where the rates are fine. That or people who do see these providers just make less appointments and the providers are getting enough calls based on the overall population size in PDX (supply / demand).

I'm annoyed that a bag of groceries can go over $100 easily these days. Dropping $60+ in my car to fill it up sucks. Everywhere I turn something is eating into my funds. While I totally get that providers need to raise their rates to cover inflation for themselves. It is super hard to justify $400 and $500+ seems insane for an hour with anyone. But if that ends up being the standard rate range, you bet I'd only bother to spend my time with the ones I find the most attractive with the best reviews and the best menu. Even if I don't partake everything on the menu, I want to hang with someone who at leasts acts well enough that they want me there.

Oh, I've noticed that the massage forum and threads about massage places are super active on multiple sites. Probably driven by the overall lower cost for a visit.

Not unusual. They had database backups, and that would include user info, such as passwords. The only unusual thing is that they didn't build a password reset after peoples' first logins following the breech, so you'd be wise to change it now.

Typically password storage is done via salted hashes. Salting means that a another word / string is appened to your password, and then that resulting value is passed one or more times through a hash function. The result looks like a gibberish value, but it is not reversable. Thus, when the passwords got breached, likely only the hashes were exposed. I heard somewhere that TNA used MD5, which is not good news since collisions are much easier, but at least they weren't plaintext.

Nonetheless, you should change your password, since it's likely anyone with the data will bump it up against a rainbow table and discover either your password or some other password that generates the same hash if the hashing algo wasn't a good one. You should also change your passwords on any sites that utilize the same one.
