Has anyone figured out how to work around the Prepay BS? I've been ripped twice. Yeah, I know, stupid. Just looking for some expert advise.

This hobby will always be an easy target for thieves and opportunists. As long as people keep falling for it, they will keep running the scam. You have to understand that most of the listcrawlr ads are some sort of fake, so I'm actually glad when they tell me upfront that they require a deposit so I can stop wasting my time with them.

Of course there are legit providers who require deposits too, because so many of us are assholes who don't have enough common courtesy to keep their appointment or even let them know they've changed their minds. I have done it a couple times. They're usually high end providers, but don't be fooled by just a fancy website and high prices. It's a feeling, but I look at reviews (including if the reviewers themselves seem legitimate and have been around a while), how long the lady and her phone number have been doing this (if she's a scammer she'll have to constantly change pics / phone numbers), how the general interaction with her goes. You can request a verification photo too, but that will only prove whether you're talking to the girl in the photos (possibly still in on the scam) or someone else (either catfish or some dude in mexico, but definitely not what you want).
