I've gotten bored with the AMP scene so just starting to venture into the "independent" world. I contacted a number of girls last night and almost all of them were asking for gift cards. I understand the idea behind it but it sounds so very very shady. There were some other red flags. Like the obvious one. Fake pictures confirmed by google image search. Also, one person gave me an address which happens to be a mile from where I grew up. When I asked what the crossroads were she instead responded with a nude pic. So, what's the deal with this? Gift cards a scam? What do I look out for to avoid it? Anything else unique to this world worth knowing for a newbie? (I did end up finding someone last night for a hang out).

Gift cards are a scam.

If you're new to it, there's a few tricks I've learned. In doing this 10 years, only been scammed twice.

1) No deposits. Ever. You can vet this out by either asking for outcall pricing before anything else, or just a basic check on their rates.

2) I pretty much refuse to do incall as my first visit with any provider I don't know. I've danced with a few in this area, flag went up on all of them so I dipped. No thanks. (If they're in a hotel there's a lot less concern here but not much).

3) If it isn't a donation in cash or cash app, don't do it. Cards, gifts, "help me out" texts asking for funding, or asking for $$$ before going into the room together. That's a no no.

This post is going to sound very cynical, but I think it needs to be said.

Most of the ads that you are going to find anymore are going to be some degree of scam. There's the ones who want a "deposit" before seeing you, there are the ones who want to get you to the meet and will upsell you, there are even cash-and-dash girls. The whole monger thing has changed a lot in the past 25 yrs since I started to get in on it, it's changed a lot in the past 5 years, particularly. These boards are packed with guys (and / or girls) from different cities who just create fake accounts and get dopes to send them "deposits", sell videos and pics of other people, what have you.

I used to feel fine with just getting a girl off BP who had not yet been reviewed if she passed my "smell test" (posted for weeks, had posted in multiple cities, pics weren't TGTBT, etc.), but now, unless someone's been reviewed by a user here, I am extremely apprehensive about texting.

Another problem, as an aside, is that quality has really fallen off. These are some ROUGH looking girls now. Before it was a good mix of gross and decent, but now, there are so many obese, old, wrinkled up girls I wouldn't bang for free out there. For example, on alligator, I searched sterling for sterling heights, and so many freaks and geeks come up. Then you see ads where the pics look pro grade and they are demanding deposits. There just aren't any good looking, legit-appearing girls on these boards anymore. SAD!

Thank you for sharing your meeting with Ashley! I've known Ashley, her sister and family for many years! She's been on and off the wagon with drugs / alcohol for many years and in / out of several SC.
