The only thing I would mention to someone else that might find themselves in this type situation down the road and feels the need to walk because of a horrible miscarriage of events is that you don't have ANY financial obligation to that provider to walk away. Especially as it sounds like you didn't even begin the session.

In this case, there was a provider who is asking for relatively big-big money, has a place that isn't suitable for decent playtime, is a hot mess in looks compared to their photos and the vibe isn't there for you, so you decide to walk as the event wasn't going to happen. I wouldn't give her the time of day, much less half of an inflated donation. One might argue that the Grant, Jack and Abe combo that was given was for wasting her time. Screech! Go the tires. She wasted Your time. You made the trip, you went through the hassle, you have to now go rebook with someone else and go through it all again, you were misled. You have Zero obligation to a provider that isn't to task.
