So, the common logic I hear for deposits is "to prove you're not uncle LEO". Here's the thing. In this state, uncle LEO had free reign to send and / or receive $ as part of their operations. They can even go as far as the "touch me here to prove it" upon arrival and have physical contact with the provider, or have their provider have physical contact that would be deemed inappropriate on a moral standards level as part of their operations. This is coming from a reliable source. So realistically, they can do just about anything other than the act itself, including sending inappropriate pics upon request from a provider / have the provider they're using send pics. All in all, the only surefire way to know is if the provider is already vetted.
