That is a good observation. The way I look at it, as long as it is consensual, there is nothing wrong with paying for companionship. Yeah, in that sense it's pretty much like any other job / financial transaction. Some people sometimes just want sex without all the complexity and baggage of a relationship and other people are willing (usually) to provide that.
