That is a good observation. The way I look at it, as long as it is consensual, there is nothing wrong with paying for companionship. It is the oldest profession in the world and is legal in most advanced democracies. So the actual act of paying for consensual companionship has no moral conflict with me. Once I pay, the funds do not belong to me anymore. How / What a person or business does with the funds is something I do not feel morally or legally obligated to control. I do agree that an increasing number of providers are turning to drugs, and that is terrible, but how they spend their money is really not something I want to dive too deep into.

The one thing I want to control (how much I can) is to ensure the person I spend time with is doing this out of their own free will and is not being forced into it. I therefore do not see people if I get even a slight feeling that they being managed against their will. That is what is most important to me.

Yeah, in that sense it's pretty much like any other job / financial transaction. Some people sometimes just want sex without all the complexity and baggage of a relationship and other people are willing (usually) to provide that. While many providers would prefer doing something else, that's true for many of us. I almost left, but let the little head do the thinking. She pretty much allows most things but I decided not to see her again. She's sweet but is going downhill.
