Great advice about the hat and mask. However, be sure the hat, shirt, mask, and whatever else you are wearing does not have an identifiable logo or other indication of who you are or your background.

1. Staff changes through the day. Front desk associates and managers don't recognize most guests unless they are regulars. Also they don't get paid enough to care.

2. Keep in mind hotels usually don't have cameras in the hallways. Once you're past the lobby they don't track where you are going. Major hotels don't want to get involved in liability so they keep the halls free of cameras. Plausible deniability that they couldn't possibly know if there was criminal of any kind.
