You'd be amazed, you can get in almost anywhere if you walk in like you own the place. Hotels are no exception. You've already got great advice from others here but I'll add my 2 cents.

1. Staff changes through the day. Front desk associates and managers don't recognize most guests unless they are regulars. Also they don't get paid enough to care.

2. Keep in mind hotels usually don't have cameras in the hallways. Once you're past the lobby they don't track where you are going. Major hotels don't want to get involved in liability so they keep the halls free of cameras. Plausible deniability that they couldn't possibly know if there was criminal of any kind.

When possible, go in the back door or a side door. Then you can bypass the front desk. I was able to do so with the last several providers I visited.

Wear a hat and face mask when walking to the provider's room. This way you don't bring attention to yourself, plus many people will simply think you're following CDC protocols for COVID. Of course, don't forget to take the hat and mask off once you're in the provider's room unless the provider chooses to wear a mask.

Some motels lock the entrances either late at night or around the clock. In that case, the provider will have to give you instructions or come let you in. A good provider will dress conservatively or casually rather than provocatively if she comes to meet you at the front or side door.

Quite simply walk in like you're staying there. Head straight for the elevators or stairs and make your way to the desired room. You can always make as if you're on your phone talking with someone and just nonchalantly strolling by, I doubt anyone will stop you or bother you. Garden-style hotels are always easier to navigate.

Don't make a big deal of it. I've done lots of business travels and people meet in hotels for all kinds of various reasons. Yes, the staff might know why you are there, but avoiding eye contact, acting suspicious, etc. Is just making it worse.

Most providers will try to host in a place that does not require card access, in which case you just go right up. If card access is needed, the provider should come down the elevator, hopefully in decent-ish business type attire.

As regards the staff, if you need something, ask. Smile, be polite, it will make you less suspicious. Hell, I've even chatted the front desk staff up briefly, it only makes things more natural.

I really don't visit hotels much anymore but when I do:

1: When you arrive at the appointment and before you walk in, ask the escort where the elevators are so that you won't stand out as you walk through the front lobby. Do not hesitate walking through the lobby or someone may ask if they can help you. If they ask you just ask where are the elevators. I've always preferred motels that I didn't have to walk by a front desk.

2: If any one asks where you're going you can:

A: Pretend you lost the room # and go back to your car.
