He could have also ran the number on revealname to see if it was operated by twilio. Or done research on the ad in general. Back in 2014 when I got detained I walked free with no charges to my name because my messages werent incriminating and I wouldn't talk to the cops. I ran the numbers through a check ever since that happened, on those sites and sumosear. Not criticizing or insulting, it can happen to anyone. But theres things you can do to prevent it before you even get behind the wheel of your car, let alone get to the sting location.

Posts: 200They removed the kick panels on both sides of the interior and didn't put them back on. Not just inventory.

Possible red flag 2. 5 is bringing a coke as requested. This confirms that you were the one texting. Minor point.

Posts: 918They weren't searching your truck for clues. Before its towed they have to do an inventory of the vehicle going through every part listing anything of value just in case you claimed something was missing. But if they did find something else illegal they certainly would have charged you.

I (and I assume many others here) appreciate you being willing to share this info in such a real-time manner. A lot of folks wouldn't because they'd be worried that LEO are watching them post. Your tale provides a lot of insight into what really happens when you wind up in a sting. Thanks again.

Posts: 200They did search my vehicle after I was transported but before it was towed. Was driving my old farm truck. Everything had been gone through and out of place. Nothing incriminating in it. Just looking for clues I guess.

Posts: 104They have it set up with the phone call everything else is just extra to nail you. Not sure what the laws are but in ohio they can't search your vehicle without your consent unless it went down inside the car.

Posts: 200I ended up loosing my job because of the no call / no show. Fired on Wednesday, started a new job yesterday. Nobody gives a fuck about my record. I am somewhere between 3-5 years from retirement. I am really good at what I do and have been doing it for over 30 years. The work I do is in high demand, low supply. Honestly think I could have failed the drug test and they would of still hired me. Anyone who knows me would find this whole ordeal hilarious. Not surprised. I could give a fuck about a misdemeanor.

There's a little more nuance than this.

Posts: 546Sounds good but not really
You can have your record expunged after a certain time period, but information suckers (like Lexus nexus) keep all that searchable data. This info can be searched by potential employers etc. That use good background investigation techniques. So basically the charge that was “dropped” is still there and searchable.

Posts: 1057Not much different from a DUI
Court costs, attorney fees, enrollment in alcohol class, money to rent a breathalyzer for your car to get back and forth to work, monthly expense for that, monitoring with alcohol rehab counselor, another monthly expense. It's always about the money and gow. Many agencies / businesses can profit from your mistake. Plus the press that they've gotten another one off the street during an election year. This is why the blood alcohol limits were lowered as well, gets more people enrolled in their system, this is no different. Won't make any difference to you or drinkers, other than the fact drinkers now take Ubers, another business formed out of the DUI push. Mongers still going to monger, it is the oldest profession after all. You'll just go about it differently and be more careful. Thanks for sharing your story for all of us and really sorry this happened to you. I feel worse for the married guy you shared the backseat of a police car with though. Wonder how his life is going at the moment?

Gawdamn it! Give them hell at 'john school'. Tell them 'human trafficking' is media narrative bs to get scumbags re-elected and budget increases. And this whole experience is going to make you that much better at renting pussy! TP the hallways and egg the principle's car.

Posts: 945Do they require you to attend a john school session as part of your probation? Do you care to share your total out-of-pocket price for your case such as fine, court cost, john school, car impound, attorney, etc? Thanks.
