I am in complete agreement with this logic. When I have spent large amounts on a single visit, the provider was recommended to my by someone I knew. It is hard to part with $500+ when you don't know what you are walking into. Personally though, I don't have a problem taking a swing at 200-250 if she is young and attractive. If she turns out to be a bad lay then I strike her off my list, I walk away disappointed, but at least I did enjoy her looks and body.
