The stings have been going on in Huntingdon area for a few weeks now. Nothing happens anymore. The girls are being offered alternative programs. None of the girls seem interested because the programs don't address the drugs and the other issues that go with detoxing from them. For the girls, it's a catch 22. There are no court dates or anything like it used to be. The longest I've heard they keep the girls now is roughly two days, give or take. As for the mongers getting tagged nobody I know has been bothered. I've seen guys pick up right in front of active duty marked cars and nothing happens.

Even if a guy does get accused of solicitation if he has his shit together and a believable story there is little to nothing that can or will be done. Don't try that old line about asking a girl if she needs a ride. A seasoned officer will right away ask why you passed the twelve other people that may also need a ride. So, not very probable that plane will fly in that shitstorm. There are a ton of other reasons to be talking to a streetwalker. Just use some common sense.

An interesting incident happened to me years ago. I got stopped and the officer asked what I was doing. He asked why I was in a known prostitution area. I simply asked him "known to who"? I commented I didn't see any signs indicating anything about prostitution. Then I pointed out there are plenty of no parking signs. So I know where I can't park. Also, signs indicate a drug-free zone. How am I to know where a prostitution area begins and ends? I had done nothing to indicate I might be seeking a prostitute. He saw that my documents were in order. No lights out or other infraction. He called me a smartass and told me to leave the area. I smiled and waved bye and continued my search for that day's dream girl.

At present, I don't think there are any sting worries. Of course, the district captain needs to appease the neighborhood masses. They go through the motions and little else. Keep in mind many of the complaints are from the same people that want to defund the police.

Huntingdon and the surrounding area have been a streetwalker haven for more than forty years. The neighbors would like to rid themselves of the streetwalkers and the other problems that come with them. They are having little to no success. I can't say I blame the neighbors much. Much of the problem lies right in their own backyard. Residents provide shelter for some of the girls and also go out looking for dates themselves. That is part of the driving force in the area that keeps working girls there plentiful. They can do a quick date literally right next door to their office and be back at work twenty minutes later. That's a win, win situation for them.

That's not to say people shouldn't be careful when shopping there. It is up to each individual to be diligent and know at a moment's notice things can change as they can anywhere. It is up to each monger that frequents any neighborhood to respect the area and residents. Don't engage in any activity that wouldn't be accepted outside their own front door. Don't leave trash or other indication of what one might be doing there. Me. I'm just an 'OL Gator.

For now, it's like the Red Light and Construction Area Cameras.

Now it's just a presence to discourage the activity but be prepared for the hammer to drop if there isn't a change.

They remove the most available options then the guys will swoop in on anything and do dumb shit and get arrested. They also like to make a big deal about the mongers to make the loudest complainers feel like they punished someone who is hurt by being arrested for a nuisance crime. 20 years ago when Northern Liberties was getting built up, the stings would be from Girard to Montgomery. 2010 I would see stings around Berks and Diamond. 2022 they'll push all the girls north of Lehigh. I lived in the area for a long time and listened to the conversations about it at community and town watch meetings.

Let's go over a few flags and understand just what's going on or could happen.

1. If there's one red flag to be heeded it's the old I'm sick or I'm going to be sick soon routine. You are right Aamco. Many can turn it on and off at the drop of a hat. That should send a clear message to any sensible person that the situation is not going to end as planned. The reality is she may or may not be dope sick. Assuming she is. Given the benefit of the doubt, she will not perform at an optimum desired level. If we allow her to get well in our vehicle it will take an act of congress to get her out. Our car will be her new best campground. It will develop into the worst sleepover since the Brady Bunch. Just tell her to look for you when she's not sick and send her packing.

A second scenario is that statement about dope sick could be a pretext to asking for get-well funds. We all know that as the perfect storm for cash and dash. Neither scenario benefits you, the client.

A good rule of thumb is if it starts on the wrong foot, it most likely will end on the wrong foot. Seem logical?

2. Red flag #2. She wants you to front her funding because drugs make her horny as fuck. Don't fall for that flag-waving misfit. You will lose every time. Take a look at all the addicts you pass in your travel. You know the ones I'm talking about. Those that are staring at visions only them and the good lord can see. Or those that are bent over trying to suck their own toes. Or how about those that get halfway across the street and somehow get lost right in front of your car. We also know those that I mentioned recently took some party drug. Here's the question of the day. How many of them look horny as fuck?

3. Red flag #3. If we find ourselves with somebody that has sores, abscesses, scabs, picked apart face, swollen, filthy hands, or fingers visible signs of infection. This is not a good point in time to be contracting an infection. (If there is a good time). I doubt any of us want to be taking home anything that could make our lives miserable. Just an observation. If we see a girl has filthy hands, What does that say about her body parts we can't see?

It only stands to reason that if we encounter red flags like these, we need to get rid of them as fast as possible. There are many ways to do this. You can use your judgment and tell her you were thinking in terms of a three-dollar blowjob. Tell her you like to give her anal while she's handcuffed to the steering wheel. Or you would like to give her golden showers. You could also explain you lost your wallet and it had all your cash. The best approach is to offer something you believe she will definitely refuse. Also of course the dummy roll of bills is my go-to. Never fails.

We, many times, allow ourselves to become victims. Not by choice rather by not being realistic in our thoughts or not thinking things through. It happens to the best of us. If we begin each encounter by understanding what can go wrong and being prepared, then most encounters will end in our favor. Never give up control of any situation. If we do, then we lose.

We all should develop a set of standards and rules that we refuse to deviate from. We will benefit in the end. There are mongers who have no standards and by virtue put the rest of us at risk.

We see red flags then it is our responsibility to ourselves to have a plan to follow that will extricate us from that situation. Not everything works all the time. Develop what works best on an individual basis. You are your own best friend in the hood. Me, I'm just an 'OL Gator.
