You're giving them too much credit. Some will do as you've stated but I think the majority are looking for now; as in the time they've posted. Most live in the present tense and don't plan the future beyond 15 minutes. Like you, I wish it were different but their priorities different from ours.

In my experience if there ad isn't in the first 3-4 pages of the ad postings on STG don't bother texting them. They most likely aren't working. That in my opinion is the way to go.
