I'm just curious as to what phone you have. I dropped my Android the in Gulf of Mexico during a fishing trip in Louisiana. Boat docked, I went to the store and bought a new phone and SIM card. In 15 minutes it was activated, and in the span of an hour or 2, 90% of my data and apps were retried from the cloud. With the exception of the photos I took during the trip before my phone went swimming (before it had a chance to backup to the cloud), I got everything back, even passwords and text messages. I believe iPhones do the same, synching to iCloud. Anyway, let me know what phone you had so I can avoid them in the future. That sucks.
