Police could have taken action at any time. They chose not to. Residents have been complaining and SPD told them there was nothing they could do. Then suddenly IMMEDIATELY after the election all of this stuff goes down? Yeah, no. Police were playing politics, end of story on that one.

Voters want the general madness Seattle has become to get back to some lawfulness (good luck) I think decriminalization would in normal circumstances be acceptable. They voted for someone (a Republican Wow!) that promises an attempt at law and order. Also, the big tech oligarchs are quite prudish.
