Posts: 140Personally, I think the guy deserves a medal. The boyfriend sold a minor into sex trafficking. Too bad he didn't get the douchebags that trafficked her here in Seattle. I'm pro-legal prostitution, but, anyone trafficking, especially minors is a scumbag. Just my 2 cents.

Posts: 964Spokane Man Charged for Murdering Daughter's Ex for Selling her to Traffickers
Saw this today. The father of an underage teen girl was charged for murdering his daughter's ex-boyfriend for allegedly selling her into sex trafficking in Seattle for $1000. She was transported from Spokane to Seattle and worked the area, wonder who she was -.

Posts: 964Yes they can. They are just choosing not to so they can make a point to City Hall. Loitering laws were eliminated by unanimous decision, that DOES NOT mean they still can't go after crime. If someone is doing something wrong and it's illegal, they can stop, question and / or arrest. Again, police are just being whiny about it.
I don't understand the part of your statement about minorities, though, LOL. Going after someone just because they are a minority is absolutely wrong. Committing a crime, sure, but just for being Asian, no.

Sure. What else do the police have to do now? Can't arrest druggies, homeless or minorities. That leaves sex related stuff. Perks of the job.

Clear your browsing history before you cross the border.
Open up a token site, Not your Gmail account for hobbying. Remove that account from Gmail temporarily, because you can add it back once you cross the border.
You can give decoy names like Changs Chinese, if the number to your agency in Vancouver has a 778 area code, modify it to 206, and change one digit. Write a Gmail to yourself reminding you what the correct number is.

Posts: 92Until you cross the threshold into the country assume you have minimal rights. They actually have a lot of latitude for search and seizure within 100 miles of a border which extends east of I-5 to the foothills. The border is not the place to show a snarky wit or they can search places you didn't know you had.

Posts: 1544Just to clarify that. Yes, they can and they will. I had that issue returning from the DR, I was there for pussy, they thought I was there to smuggle drugs back.

Posts: 207Yes, absolutely true and lots of legal precedent established that they can search anything, including all phones and computers when crossing the border.

Posts: 3They probably can and it probably is. Border agents have a lot of power. That said, I wouldn't worry. I crossed the border a couple of weeks ago and all the Canadian guys cared about was the PCR test and having the ArriveCan app. Didn't even ask me the regular questions like where are you going or how long are you staying.

Posts: 74You must have the PCR test results within 72 hours of crossing. The Rapid test isn't enough.

Just be sure to clear your text messages and contacts with anything hobby related, especially with 604 and 778 area codes. Tell the ladies in Canada not to text or call you until you are safely in Canada.
When coming back, clear your phone, just in case you even randomly get sent into secondary inspection, even if it's for a random COVID test.
