If it's a legit franchise you can easily get SBA loans, especially for an established brand name. I'm not rich at all and I managed to start a franchise spa business, but it takes a hell of a lot more than $100 k to do it. Mine took about $700 k to start up between construction, opening working capital etc. It does take some balls though. You usually have to put your house up as collateral so if your business fails you're fucked. I can tell you that in this world, $100 k doesn't buy you much. They're touting themselves as an ultra luxury spa and for $100 k that's laughable. The air conditioning for my spa cost that much.

I can tell you what it is. These are criminal enterprises with the kingpin somewhere in Asia and they recruit local owners to run the MPs. If you get busted and arrested that's your problem.
