That's my impression too, is that as much as guys get paranoid about LEO and the hobby, on the priority list snagging any individual john is real, real low on the totem pole. Not saying that anyone should go and sign a personal statement or something, but get these fuckers on the cop's radar anonymously. Get them kicked out of their hotel. They're counting on people being too worried about their own ass to report them, and that's only going to make them bolder the longer they get away with it. Even if it doesn't result in jackshit (very likely) very little downside risk to an anonymous report. Just my two cents.

A lot of the time if someone is willing to rob someone at gun or knifepoint they are usually committing other crimes which lead to bigger arrests. Not always, but that's how they get people who are embroiled in bigger activity such as drug-trafficking, sex-trafficking, firearm-trafficking, gang-activity, etc. So from what I understand police will look into it.

At the least call the manager and tell him his Tennant is robbing people at knife point.

I am usually careful, don't want trouble, but something about being a victim is hard to swallow. Idk if in the similar situation what I would have done the same.

In my experience, the police care less about the severity of a crime than ease of capture. Finding and catching actual criminals is dangerous and hard work. Arresting a harmless guy with a prostitution habit is much safer, and if he walks right into your precinct and freely admits to illegal behavior, then it's really goddamned easy too. The more arrests they make, the better their crime stats look, the more justification they have for larger and larger police budgets. I wouldn't dare report any of my experiences to the police. If you're strongly compelled to do so, then at least consult with a defense lawyer first.

Making an anonymous tip might provide better protection to yourself, but I wouldn't try it from anything but a burner phone. I'll admit that I've never done it, but I strongly suspect that the police take anonymous tips about as seriously as reports of carpool lane violations.

For the guys who've been straight out robbed, anyone have any experience with reporting it to police? Got to think armed robbery trumps misdemeanor solicitation. Never take your wallet with you to an appointment. Leave it and anything else valuable in your car. Just take the donation.

Reached out to recently revealed UTR provider Ema. She texted me back from a different number.

After some back and forth she agreed to come over. She texted me around the agreed upon time, said she was parking, and I should send the donation via venmo, to prove that I was "not a cop".

She said she did not accept hand to hand payments. I told here I wouldn't send her any money until I had seen her physically at my location.

Some more accusations about how I must be a cop I won't send her money, asked her to send a picture of where she was, she ended up giving up and stopped texting.

Watch out. Looks like "she" likes to collect deposits.
