Posts: 307Interesting. Your second sentence is the very definition of "Donald Trump. ".

The biggest threat to the democracy that I see isn' a takeover by Islam, but internal conflict caused by out of control political polarization. As the world famous philosopher, Pogo once said, "We have met the enemy, and he are us. ".

The United States is on the verge of collapse. We elect people who tell us what we want to hear and enrich themselves. We are infected with political correctness and avoid the truth. We refuse to admit Islam is a political force whose goal is to rule the world.

Posts: 307I don't know how these posts are edited, but the names of Operational Orders (OPORN's) and Operational Plans (OPLAN's,) are properly capitalized, hence Operation "ELDORADO CANYON" (all caps), and Operation "DESERT STORM" (also all caps.).

Along with the 15,000 Americans and 80,000 Afghan allies abandoned in Afghanistan, we are completely fucked.

My "admin" experience consisted of four years in the Pentagon on the Air Staff. Do you remember the attack on Libya, Operation El Dorado canyon? That was a plan and it was very successful. I was not on the ground in Afghanistan; I was in the air, just as I was in Vietnam and Desert storm. And yes, I fired many weapons. Would you like a list? And yes, I was fired at, frequently. Have you ever seen a picture of Baghdad during Desert storm?
It was an epic failure, just not my this administration alone. The previous one share equal blame. I recognize that you believe your fearless leader is perfect in every way, but please recall that he had no plan to distribute the Corona virus vaccine either.

Yea right, he had a brilliant plan. He just forgot to inform those responsible for carrying it out.

You talk about "knowing" a little about how this works because you were in military admin. Were you on the ground in Afghanistan? Did you fire a weapon? Were you fired at? You don't know squat.
This is a colossal failure by this administration and our woke military leaders of epic proportion.
Furthermore, most of us are on this board because of our interest in pussy. 90% of your posts are rant and raves trying to defend leftist ideals. Maybe if you spent more time pursuing pussy you'd have a more balanced outlook on things.

Posts: 307Sounds good -- after the fact. The problem is that there does not exist an OPLAN, or even an MOA, which tasks who is do do all of this, and how, and when, and with what resources, etc. , etc.

President Trump's Plan.
First. Get our Embassy Staff out.
Next. Get all Americans and Allies (non-Afghani's out).
Next. Get our working and repairable military equipment out.
Next. Get our Afghani Allies out.
Next. Last of the military leave.
But UnPresidential Biden would not even consider following something President Trump's administration wrote.
Don't be a sucker.

Some thoughts on Afghnistan:
First of all the entire situation is a tragedy and I feel for the Afghani people, those who are still trying to get safely ou, and those who gave their lives during the conflict.
I spent four long years on the Air Staff and thereby have a bit of knowledge of how this all works. I was in XOO (Operations) not XOX (Plans) but I worked enough with the planners to know that nothing is ever thrown out. It can be revised ad nauseum, but the old plans are still on file and ready to be dusted off.
President Biden has taken some severe hits for the lack of planning here and rightly so. However, it was President Trump who made the agreement with the Taliban and established the May 1 withdrawal date. But clearly he had no plan on how to do this either or the armed forces would have had in place unless it was superseded by a newer Biden era plan, which is obviously not the case.
That being said, the only difference in the end game that I see is that it all would have occurred four months earlier.
I blame both sides. There is certainly enough of it for each of them to share. I just wish we could now concentrate on getting our people and allies out of there. The finger pointing can wait.

Posts: 654Based on comparing FT's numbers to CDC's figures on breakthrough cases, from July 12th to August 6th we've had 6,343 people die of Covid-19, of which 366 (5. 7%) were fully vaccinated. 16 times as many unvaccinated died as vaccinated, even though as of now the population is evenly divided between vaccinated and unvaccinated, even though the unvaccinated population is significantly younger and healthier than the vaccinated population. Its almost like... Vaccines work or something.
