No one besides me misses the very cute blonde valet at BT's? She was very nice and nice to look at. I am sure one of you players scored her number at some point.

Posts: 221I generally like valeting. The idea of someone parking your car for you then bringing it back is incredible.
I don't like to valet at strip clubs, however. Most of these places are shady as shit to begin with, but then there's the thought of handing the keys of a $90-100 k car to a kid who's making a quarter of that this year is nuts. Granted, I'm usually in a rental in Detroit since I'm traveling for work but having to deal with rental agencies and car damage is a huge headache. Why leave these things to chance?

For me it is not the cost, it is handing my keys over to some kid and letting them drive off and park it. As long as they allow me I am fine handing them the cash, in the overall scheme of things it is the cheapest thing you will pay for all night.

Probably charge the valet fee; it's essentially another cover charge.

I sure hope that the Delta variant gets under control soon, if not its going to be a long fall and winter everywhere. It is not appealing or safe to be indoors with a bunch of unvaccinated people nor is it appealing watching strippers with face coverings on (although some look better with them on than off). I would guess that many bars / restaurants will require proof of vaccination before entering at some point which is fine with me. Thoughts?

Posts: 1085Nope, not "fear" per se. Giving your car to a valet effectively says "Please, go through my shit", because that's exactly what's going to happen. I don't have anything particularly valuable or dangerous in my vehicle but still, it's like my privacy is being invaded by relinquishing control of it and I'm not going to do that voluntarily. Additionally, if it gets scraped or damaged, valet is simply going to deny it and say that it was like that when I pulled in. Ah, yeah. No thanks.

A while back, I'd been reading good reports about Subi's and since it isn't terribly far away from me, I decided to go and try what I stated above. They refused and I left. It was as simple as that. On the plus side for me, my money is green everywhere and there's plenty of other clubs that will happily take it but on the downside for Subi's, they got none of it, over the cost of a $7 valet.

Posts: 389Love miller lite. 2. 6 carbs for 12 oz. When you drink 10-12 beers a day, it's a great option.

Wow, much talk of valet parking lately, so, here is a post with nothing to do with valet parking. Except for the fact that I did valet park at BT's and had no issues whatsoever.
Sat at the bar and ordered a bucket of miller lites. I was hoping to see "Blue", but she was not working, so I looked around at other options. 2 different AA's chatted me up, one of them model-quality super thin amazing body and said it was her second day at the club. I think she said she was 19, don't remember name. The other one was a little chubbier, said she was 26. I didn't get quotes for services from either of them because I wasn't interested. Eventually, caught up with "Heather", thin white girl in her 30's I would say, had a great time in the VIP with her (DM me for details). Club was rocking, this was earlier in the week mid-afternoon, I saw 10-15 girls and about the same # of customers. Got a couple of drinks comped by the manager, and did a shot with the bartender. Great time at BT's. Paid the valet on my way out and amazingly they brought me my vehicle without any attempt at extortion (sarcasm). I gave the valet a 20 and said we're all set. He is a nice guy just trying to make a living like anyone else.

Posts: 1128If you submit to valet parking you are surrendering your keys. They don't have to give back your car. All they have to say is they thought you might be drunk. If a dancer decides you owe her $100, they can hold your car hostage to make you pay. It is not an "irrational fear".

No, there are other reasons. I want to be in control. Without my car keys, they are in complete control over me. Once had a girl in VIP try to rip me off on the song count. I just walked out of the club. She bitched and a bouncer followed me but I just got in the car and left. Besides, valet is such an old school stupid "luxury".

Posts: 599Valet helps keep clubs safe, keeps those looking to potentially cause trouble to stay away because if those looking to start trouble don't have the keys to their car to make a quick getaway they may think twice.
I really appreciate the fact that the top clubs have valet.

That sucks. My thought on valet depends upon the locale. 8 Mile clubs, I always valet-parked; my car being there was worth it. BT'S and Landing Strip are in good neighborhoods, so that 10 bucks was my first drink and some exercise.
