I've had this happen once. There was a tight young noob provider. Super tight kat. She is no longer around however the woman who took her spot is using her number. I hate hotel room spots like this. Great advice, all of which I always follow. I never park on site unless I know the provider and I'm confident that the encounter will be predictable. Another thing that I do is try to avoid the lobby if it's an inside motel. Lots of side doors where people have wedged something in to keep the door open for smokers or you can wait until someone goes in the side door and just pass through behind them.

If something looks fishy, bail. If these broads want your car, name, photo, etc. , bail. Live to fuck another day.

I always arrive first just to scope the area and see what is going on. I always check a couple blocks down to see if there is anything iffy.
