FWIW my answer is, quite simply, there are too many guys willing to pay that much. I would also guess the reason why so many providers demand a deposit and or gift cards is because there are too many of us that fall for it.

Like many people f you I have spent hours, no let me correct that days trying to hook up with a provider. I had $300 biting a hole in my wallet. I had to settle for the B team provider who replied back. It's the biggest frustration I've had in 15 years in the hobby.
