Lovely dream a few nights ago. I was on my way to see sunshine from LC on the South Side of St pete, MLK and around 10th ave. Near the Family dollar. Was about 10 pm. I turned down the wrong street and there I see a tall think dark beauty. Did the scoop and had to get a room to enjoy this beauty. I was not gona miss out. Tall dark and thin. Very sweet girl. Goes by the name of queen. See pics attached. Alot of fun, seems that if she has candy she will not rush you. Can't wait to have that dream again!

Well another one bites the dust. Sheriff Bobs men in green were unloading the trap under the bridge. I must have got there after the people were removed, but there were trucks loading up their treasure. The street around Angelos were deserted. We'll get the lowdown on the 6 pm news.

The problem there is not simply their criminal history but their near complete lack of BASIC job skills (like waking up and showing up for work on time and not just when THEY feel like working, following up after a positive interview, having even a minimal work ethic, etc.). Its almost like they don't really want to work for minimum wage or a set schedule after they've become used to going out whenever they feel like it and simply standing around until some guy comes around and offers them $20 for 10 minutes work.

But the other alternative (returning to hooking after getting clean) is really so much worse. If they return to hanging out with the same old crew (drugged out fellow SW's, DB's and often even some johns who used to do drugs with them), what are their chances really of staying clean? If they were really any good you'd see many more former addicts working the streets, but you don't.

Cold withdrawal can actually kill people, so when you say it's the hard and painful way. That's no joke. Can't tell you how many people I've seen who are in jail for something else and then end up coming to the hospital because of withdrawal symptoms.

It also speaks to what a piss-poor methodology we take to help people in drug rehabs in this country. Switzerland had a large problem with heroin overdoses and crime in the 80's and changed their methodology to harm reduction. Basically gave addicts free heroin, clean needles, medical care. But it also came with the stipulation that you had to stick with a social worker who would help you address the fundamental lack of jobs, housing, etc. Since then they've had a massive reduction in crime, ODs, and some 60-70% of the people in the program were able to kick their habits and maintain jobs as functioning members of society. It just goes to show that culturally we really don't do all we can for people who fall through the cracks in life here.

Took a ride about 7:45. Didn't see anything in the triangle. Behind Burger King was dead again, really think that stroll is over. Did see one walking on 34th St & 5th Ave and then down 35th St. But she was a little scary looking and being way too obvious for me. Brunette with jean shorts on, seemed a little high. Looking and waving cars down, couldn't walk straight. Too bad, she looked kinda hot, in a street walker kinda way.
