Posts: 532I just don't understand the towing of the cars unless they actually parked in the parking lot. Like park a couple blocks away and walk up.

One state should try to implement some of the laws that's exist some places over seas, prostitution and solicitation of prostitution is legal but profiting off the solicitation is illegal. Girls can make $$$ and feel protected by the police which would eliminate a lot of need for pimps and "drivers". Make them like Uber, independent contractors paying their cut to the government.

Still prostitution is a priority for corrupted Chicago police! Obviously demand decreased during the pandemic because most mongers were reluctant, just didn't want to expose themselves to the virus. (there's always exceptions) but as soon as summer started with all the George Floyd moment, Chicago police reassumed their famous sting operations. They kept busting mongers who were replying to their online ads. In fact, they joined other police forces within cook county which include many suburbs and together they busted hundreds of mongers. I don't think they go after street hookers that much for violating traffic as you mention, most of the time they go after the mongers because it brings lots of money fir then! Mongers have to pay a fine and also their vehicles get towed so more money for them! Being a Democrat city means a huge staff budget and burocracy, somehow some way they have to justify their existence and always chose the easiest job, prostitution. I wish they would go after the real crimes!

Looks like the Chicago cops have only busted a couple of people for prostitution since the COVID-19 thing started. They still bust the occasional street hooker for obstructing traffic / soliciting rides, but it doesn't seem to be a priority.

Seems like life imitating art with Baltimore, for anyone who watched The Wire.
Obviously, I'm on this board for the hobby, but not prosecuting low level street crimes is a mistake. The success of what is known as a broken windows model of policing has often been tied to a strong economy (e. G, it was easy for Bratton and Giuiliani to see success with their strategies in NYC because the economy was strong and Manahattan had become a rich person's paradise). However, that model of policing makes sense more generally. Chicago would become chaos. If Foxx is serious then she should work with officials to legalize prostitution or work with police to create specific zones where street level crimes wouldn't be prosecuted (red light district or Hamsterdam in The Wire).

Posts: 832Not if she stops prosecuting prostitution. I'm not saying it will happen. Chicago is not Baltimore. Still, with so many politicians in Chicago wanting less police arrests and less people in jail- particularly minorities- for non-violent crimes, who knows?

It will probably be that prostitutes will not be charged but customers will.

Just finished reading an interesting online story. Baltimore is going to quit prosecuting low level crimes, including prostitution. The prosecutor is claiming that the level of offenses went down during an experimental period during the pandemic. Kim Foxx was quoted in the story. She is said to be exploring Baltimore results to see if she should do the same thing in Cook County. Could we actually be looking at arrest free mongering in Cook County?

I'm comfortable in saying it really is a senseless killing where several degrees of lives were forever affected by this act. At this point labeling it as a racist incident or one predicated by an unstable person with an unstable mind. Allow me to offer this, if we as equal citizens of this place we call earth, stood up for the injustices that were actual racial crimes, you give very little room for there to be this expanded belief that every act perpetrated on a person of a different color is racism, or racist. I stand before you as a black man and I tell you unequivocally, if a black person committed a crime he should be held accountable, but I can tell you that at no point have I ever seen a law enforcement person describe that individual as having a bad day. This is just one mongers opinion, if you as white people want to stop being accused of be racist when the acts are questionable as to the motive, do this, stand up for what's right and not what's white!

For the County Sheriff to try and humanize the shooter by trying to articulate the shooter's perspective, feelings, and having a bad day. Are you serious?
And then backpaddling by saying oh he was just reiterating what the shooter said. Please explain your anti-Asian t-shirt on Facebook a$$hole.
Of all the incidents even recently where minority related offenders were involved, how many times were their voices articulated?
You go work out, go watch a movie, go talk to your friends and family, play video games, etc when you have a bad day. Killing people is NOT okay when you have a bad day.
As bad as the crime of the shooting is, it is insult to injury how that particular Sheriff exemplifies systemic racism. It is real and deeply rooted behind cowardice. Shine the light and they scamper like cockroaches. They are only "sorry" and apologetic when they get outed and caught.
Hey wake up! The "Model Minority" need to wake up and rise and not take this $hit anymore.
Taking it out on women and the elderly is pure cowardice and despicable. Tell you what, whenever those that want to victimize a woman or elderly, I'm your huckleberry. Come at me.

Maybe because some people find everything in the world can be explained by racism. Those people can see nothing OTHER than race in every facet of society. Some other people find this racial explanation for everything ridiculous. Those people of course, are the real racists. I'm personally tired of hearing about race all the time. There is no intent to defend this nut job. He defended himself. He shot Asian women because that's who works at Asian massage parlors where he goes for a rub and tug. Why didn't he go to Icelandic or Saudi Arabian massage parlors and subsequently shoot up some people? Because there aren't any Icelandic or Saudi massage parlors.

Posts: 1404Wow this is the second thread I have seen you call guys out for being racist by your perception. Is this forum really the place for your woke accusations? Some people are looking to find racism under every stone Its like some people can't stand for racism to not be behind every perceived slight.
