Hotels or motels won't have LE stopping you to ask questions out of the blue. Likewise, for any hotel security people. They have no probable cause to stop and grille you. Stay calm, keep walking, and answer no questions. Your presence violates no law and you are free to leave. Your reactions to them may give them probable cause if you freak out. They can lie; you can't.

I always carry ID though. Not my whole wallet, just my license, with a $20 wrapped around it. The $20 is for the same reason mentioned by others.

It's true in CT LE can't ask out of the blue, but there's any probable cause for LE to ask me, and if they're present, there probably is or they can easily make one up. The situation can be a lot worse if I can't identify myself. After ID'ing myself, if questions persist I'd ask for a lawyer. No ID? All they have to do is follow you out of the lot, possibly a different officer, and make up an infraction. If you're operating a motor vehicle, you ARE required to present a license, registration, and proof of insurance to the officer who stops you.

I don't understand why some of you bring more than what is necessary to these meetings. With everyone, even ones I have seen multiple times and trust, my wallet, main cell and keys stay in my vehicle. FYI I have been ripped off a few times myself but didn't loose much.

I bring my burner phone (phone #'s are backed up), the amount of the donation plus $20 and covers. Why an extra $20? Maybe there are is an add-on I want to sample. Or if I get confronted by a pimp or BF "Give me all your money," then, "All I have is $20 it's yours. " I figure if I give them $20 then they are more likely to let me go without a confrontation. I also have a small knife which I would probably leave in the truck but I don't ever think about taking it off.

Here's a question for some of you: Should I be in a situation where I encounter LE how will not having I'd or keys affect me? At the very least they can't easily find my vehicle to impound it (I walked here).

In all seriousness, she's been nothing but nice to me.

That's doesn't mean I'd leave things lying around as there's a 100 percent chance of compromised morals in this lifestyle.
