Years ago before digital cameras, you'd have been ok but not in the last 5 years or so. Digital cams with infrared lights are literally everywhere. Even I use them on my property. Stores and back lots are no different.

A wooded area might be good but even then, a property owner can use similar or hunting cameras to get a heads up on trespassers. The old days were so much better for night maneuvers.

Yup android but I'm not worried. Again I use the app for my real one and then I have a couple burner ones I use in a different browser on private that clears cache when I close it. Whatever the os is catching I'm not worried about anyone actually digging that far in to find. It's free and you can easily close the account and just open a new email and get another free number.

You picked the wrong place in general, not just that Lowes lot. You might have been picked up by security, camera or human. Any cars with occupants hanging behind a store are flagged as pro type shoplifters. The MO is someone goes in and fills a cart with expensive items and bolts out one the back fire exits too a waiting and running car. Alarm will sound but perp is gone in a flash. You and your date were likely suspected as part of that scheme.
