You can link it to a card and have it so that your real name doesn't show to whoever runs the charge. If authorities bother investigating its not anon, but your average jane provider won't know your I'd (unlike credit card, where every single time its run your real name shows).

Might want to reconsider. In Hawaii, "false reporting to law enforcement authorities" is a crime punishable by up to one year of incarceration and a fine of up to $2,000.
