Studies have proven that most regular masks of not all do not protect you from covid. Only an n95 protects you the most and even that I don't believe is 100 percent. In medical settings people wear face shields too tu avoid any splash from things such as coughing. You need to practice social distancing and just avoiding people you don't know. This hobby is very risky especially if you are not a single man and have family. Look what happened to King. When your setting up and participating in gb parties with a bunch of guys and a few girls then you can't act surprised when someone gets the bug. That's an example tailored to people here but think about how many new years parties will be held at private residences and clubs packed full of people. Great way to start off 2021 being stuck in a ventilator. There are real consequences to your actions. My friend whose been out travelling overseas and hobbying just caught the bug. He is doing ok now but from having video chat via WhatsApp with him and seeing his state was concerning. He was hooked up to 4 L of oxygen and his oxygen saturation was still hovering at around 92 or below. He's doing better now but it's not always the case. Plus many people are reporting long term effects from having covid. So I personally don't care about those statistics about the number of deaths that you guys keep reporting. At the end of the day I'm not trying to be any part of any of those statistics.

Religiously wearing a mask is virtually impossible. Who wears a mask 24/7? You could come home to an asymptomatic wife or family after wearing a mask religiously ALL DAY, take off your mask, and catch it. While the mouth and nose are still the biggest areas of concern, it's possible to catch it through the eyes as well. When working with COVID patients, the majority of the staff wear a face shield. I probably see less that 1% of people wearing face shields when I'm out in public.

Posts: 307No-one ever claimed that masks are perfect at stopping the transmission of the virus, but they are FAR, FAR superior than not wearing one at all in preventing its spread. They would be even better if a greater percentage of the population wore them. And they must be worn correctly. Those who have them over their mouths with their noses exposed do not count as mask-wearers.

This is akin to saying. I got an STD even though I religiously wear a rubber.
Except that one time. At the gangbang. Apart from that. Religiously.

A death and another had their foot amputated after being in an induced coma. Don't forget they got top flight cutting edge medicine that we can't get. All while telling people that nothings wrong. A better question for the message board doctors would be, why are the same politicians that are telling the public to not be scared and there's nothing to worry about rushing to the front of the vaccine line. Most of them are younger than our most fervent anti maskers here as well.

The viral "particles" are in fact orders of magnitude smaller than the gaps in the fabric of masks. However, CV19 isn't airborne. It doesn't just float about the place. It is transmitted attached to liquid droplets from coughing, sneezing or simply breathing moist air. The liquid droplets are much larger and typically are constrained from passing through masks. In or out. To a large extent.
Science experiment. Put a mask on and try to spit on someone six feet away.

I'm sure as a doctor, you appreciate the difference between "airborne" viruses versus those transmitted in liquid particles. As part of your medical training in virology, you'll also remember the difference in size of viral particles versus those of liquid particles and therefore the transmission through masks. Or not as the case may be.

It's right here, on one page, clear as a bell, not 10,000 pages with 40 lines just for Alabama. Its not 3,073,069 it's 2,851,438 well not actually, it's going to be more because the count lags but unless 300,000 people die this week it's going to be 2. 85 million and change, same as last year, same as 2018, same as 2017, same as 2016.

I know you didn't learn anything because you just keep refusing to look at the chart and keep saying the same wrong shit over and over. I understand, you picked the incorrect narrative and you're having a hard time admitting it. But the numbers are what they are, there are no extra deaths end of story.

Posts: 13634I've personally been a freelance gynecologist for over 40 years. Some on this thread who suggest to have medical knowledge are, at best, a veterinarian or Ph. D. As for medical expertise? Quite laughable. This here thread has become a comedy skit as of late.
