I too am surprised and obviously disappointed that rates haven't really budged in 9 months of this nightmare.

The only success I've had (with 2 different providers) was negotiating a frequent flyer type deal.

Good call, being new to the game you would be opening yourself up for trouble. As you get older and experienced then you will fully understand the risks and maybe then you might live out an overnight dream. If you change your mind check the advice given again and possibly make another post about it and gather up more advice. Its a fun hobby but diving in too deep too soon might leave you vulnerable.
