Twenty-two men were arrested Wednesday after responding to online advertisements for prostitution in Northwest Cook County.
The Cook County Sheriff's Police Special Victim's Unit set up meetings with would-be buyers and an officer posing as a person selling sex at a hotel in Northwest Cook County, the sheriff's office said in a statement.
Once the men offered to exchange money for sex, officers waiting outside entered the hotel room and took the men into custody, the sheriff's office said.
Twenty-two men were issued $1,000 citations for violation of the county's public morals nuisance ordinance, and 19 vehicles were towed under the ordinance, requiring an additional $500 to reclaim, the sheriff's office said.
"Sex trafficking is not a victimless crime," Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart said. "Many victims primarily women suffer violence and abuse, and my office is committed to offering them the assistance they need while making it very costly for those who seek to purchase sex. ".

Posts: 521Your tax dollars at work
Remember this dumb shit?
http://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justic...ostitution-ads
Two years later your tax dollars are still being spent to persecute the people who ran backpages.
Who we elect to state offices matters. Whenever you hear of anyone running for office that supports this dumb shit, get their name out in public and encourage everyone you can to vote against them.
If you have some power and money. Like Robert Kraft. Don't just use it to keep your ass clean. Unlike Kraft, use your influence to get these laws changed once and for all so your dumb ass won't end up in a news report next time you're getting a happy ending.

No obituary notices, we don't want their families running a search and getting the USASG as a return.

Posts: 258That's the main reason the do stints on streets!
Real story, Not long ago a friend of mine decided to ride his old bike, it was summer time but kind of late. Anyway, he sees a blond lady in a sexy outfit around the corner. The area is known for street action. So he bluntly asked her how much for a BJ, So the lady looks at him and yells "get the hell out of here or you'll go to jail". Immediately an undercover car pops up out no nowhere and a big guy warns my friend not to cruise the area or he will be taken to jail. They let my friend go without any felony charge or fine.

I think Illinois is a state that has a statute that they will seize your car if you get busted as well. Costs $500 to retrieve.

If you get arrested by the Chicago Police Department, it will most likely be posted on their web site and will probably include your mug shot. I'm not a cop or a lawyer, so I'm not sure how you get that stuff taken down, but I do know a couple of massage girls who have had their online records purged after being arrested for prostitution.

Posts: 958A lot probably depends on the attorney hired and his experience. Not to mention how deep your pockets are. Example # 1: Robert Kraft.

I am asking to get some practical use cases out of it. I've heard that some people get slaps on the wrist and can go on with their lives where other people don't and end up with mugshots online and it becoming real problematic. I want to know what it entails. I know the state goes down to the county, city, municipality and all that, but I figured maybe somebody here would have practical use cases. If there are places in the country that are more lenient, maybe its a better bet to go there at least periodically. God knows chicago sucks for this type of thing anyways. High cost, terrible selection, always cracking down on it. Jeez. Maybe its time to go to canada once every month or two.

They interviewed a convicted murderer and I will never forget him saying the internet is the greatest invention for people like him as web sites such as Craigslist, tindr, grindr, Seeking Arrangements bring your victims right to you instead of having to go out and chase them down like Ted Bundy had to.

I think you're better off goggling it. You can go state by state. If I may, why are you asking? Are you planning on getting busted? Or, do you plan to relocate to the state with the lesser penalties? That could give you a false impression. Even though a state may have laws and penalties, they may not really pursue them. And, probably more likely, it could vary by municipality. Some jurisdictions are not trying to bust Johns or workers as long as it is not out in the open etc. We all know certain towns where any AMP is harassed, until they close, or has to constantly deal with the cops coming in, or after multiple attempts the cops finally have a bust. While other places within the same state never have any issues etc.

Posts: 109It's much simpler than that
We are a culture of low information voters. Thus the political incentive structure rewards politicians for the appearance of doing good and not actually doing good. A prostitution sting via internet ads is low cost gets the headlines. Low hanging fruit. The cost of infiltrating a legit human trafficking ring is extremely high however and could quite likely never yield a headline.

Guys, what are the typical penalties if you get busted for soliciting?
I have been curious. I figured this may be the right place to post this.
I asked this question in texas. Because its a red state I figured the consequences would be minimal.
Thats actually not the case.
Also, what states have the lowest penalties for this?

There is no way that apartment was vacant. And with this being Lisle (DuPage County) and so close to Naperville, I'm sure they will catch these guys before the weekend.
