Don't forget about Gift Card Scamming. Still a favorite of many old fashion Scammers. They get you to buy a gift card and ask for the digits on to back to "verify" the funds and POOF! There goes any further communication with the supposed provider AND all your funds.

It comes down to this (and it's been said over and over) NEVER pay in advance. Never ever. No cash, no gift cards, no cash app of ANY kind, no gold coins, nothing of any real value. Don't do it.

2) It's because they've been scammed so many times before.

3) Why would they take your money and run when they can make more by seeing you.

While there is theoretically nothing wrong with giving a provider a card instead of cash, it creates an easy way to get ripped off. The provider will have you buy the card before you ever arrive at her location, then she asks for the number on the card for some type of "verification", once you've given her the card number, that's all she needs to use the funds on the card, and there goes her incentive to see you! There's the "help" you requested, never pay in advance and never give the provider the card information in advance.
