Posts: 531Yes I totally agree, he has a desire to run for governor. I am just happy his term as mayor will be over soon. He is a jerk, I'm an attorney and have met him numerous times at Honolulu Hale. Totally fake personality who lacks integrity, he only hams it up when the cameras are rolling.

Posts: 1170Almost certain Caldy will run for gov, IMO. He is already starting to criticize LG Green (possible rival for gov) on virus response, rail P3, embellishing his mayoral role, increased visibility on TV, etc. He even trying for talk da kine to show local roots and pretty soon going hoomalemale, hoomalimali, hooponopono to the max.

Posts: 783Are you sure that we won't see him again? I bet that he thinks that he should be our next governor. I liked him before when he was talking about fixing our roads and infrastructure. I won't vote for him again.

Is the public allowed to see their taxes or are they they exempt from whistleblowers with evidence of wrongdoing (corruption)?

Posts: 148Glad dumb and dumber, Ige and Caldwell are both on their way out. We should inject them both with the Wuhan flu. They obviously could care less what happens. They've successfully lined their pockets with all of that Hart corruption payoffs at the expense of the taxpayers. Why not suspend the rail? Make improving city infrastructure the top priority until the economy can begin to rebound. Fix the damn roads, highways, water / sewage systems these types of projects would create jobs for local people and help to improve overall efficiency. Invest in solar buses like China has. And also look for other ways to diversify Hawaii's economy besides being the ***** of tourism. The virus should've been a wake up call for the Government to not be so heavily dependent on tourists dollars. More restaurant cards!? Keep funding a welfare zone, let's be a sanctuary state next.

Iges new plan again LOL All visitors test results need to be negative or mandatory 14 days quarantine. Okay, and only 2 tests that our state allows to be used. Okay, so back to Tier 1 again and businesses shut down again, and still jobs are limited and what about all the unemployment checks that still haven't been received yet? Okay and now MASKS are mandatory with NO punishment again and criminals getting really desperate not only robbing but killing also and Maui police chief thought nobody saw him damage a parked motorcycle and didn't bother to leave a note? He said he's going to retire after 35 years so he's home free.

Posts: 561I always wondered the same thing, if the cost of knocking it down would outweigh them continuing the never ending project. It's an eyesore, hurts businesses, and Hawaii people love to drive if they can. The extra lane for shuttle buses, that's an idea that should've been thought about more than the rail. I like your thinking, you want to run for mayor one day?

Posts: 1170I hope they no forget make one jogging trail on the tracks. By 2033 private transportation should be going vertical (electromagnetic) anyway and they might even try levitate the rail (30 more years of taxes; $20 billion); might as well go all-in. All kidding aside, too late for stop this albatross; should have built that bridge across Pearl Harbor ($3-5 billion).

Posts: 303Wonder how much would cost to just break that rail down and just take the lost might be a better idea then finishing it should take less then 10 years to break it down and no need anymore money after that to keep it running this island is only small anyway stupidest thing was start building that rail should of just made a extra lane for only shuttle buses would have been quiker cheaper and easier to build.

Thanks TaxExempt, You just got me scared. Just my luck, I would cutoff a motorcycle riding my bicycle and then I would be sent flying off the rail path down to the ground below. I never thought that I would have died that way until I read your post.

By 2033 our population may be 50% lower so traffic might be eased? The only big problem, the pot holes will be much bigger so everybody going to have trucks, big trucks and the rail will be used for motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles.

So we got to look forward to 12 -13 more years of detours, road closures, traffic jams, metal plates on the roads, cones, arrow signs, just a total disaster. And this will be from where they are now on Dillingham to Ala Moana, probably just Dillingham will be half of that time. Who knows what's under that road that's not on their maps?
