Well, I'm a 62 year old white man that plans to vote for Trump even though I firmly believe he has no chance of winning. Regardless, the war on drugs begun by Reagan has needlessly criminalized two generations of black Americans while wasting countless billions of dollars. As an added "benefit" it has helped to militarize the police and further drive a wedge between the police and the public they are hired to protect and serve. So, I view this change in pot laws as a good first step in the right direction to reduce prison populations and eventually use a completely different approach in the war on drugs (that has already been lost of course). I'm really hoping drug laws and prison reform are something we get out of a democratic victory and I'm glad Ms. Harris has made the promise. Not comfortable with the economic side of the Democratic Platform but at least some good can come from a change that should really benefit so many of "your people" that were wrongly targeted in the past.
