I'll post this in both the Lowell and Boston boards since I met her in Tewksbury, but it seems that she's now in Saugus.

For anyone who searches later, some providers who are higher-end and professional DO ask for a deposit. I've paid deposits in the past, and I didn't get burned. But providers who do ask for a deposit will typically be more established in the community, have ongoing social media presence, etc.
