Which part wasn't true? That a vaccine will be developed? That we can slow down the infection rate by making some short-term sacrifices? That wearing a mask is a societal benefit? I don't have the virus, but I come into contact with people I don't know all the time. Do they have it? I don't know that either, so I will do everything within my power to protect myself. I have already lost one family member to COVID with NO other contributing factors.

I agree. This Covid thing is still much a mystery and any death is needless. Haven't had any losses so far but the CDC has been spinning its wheels, getting new data and such, yet it'll be years before they know the true depth and breadth of this virus.

I was absolutely not a fan of masks at first but I am now. Anyone who was "enforcing" the mask thing before seems to be treating it as a joke these days.

Sadly, people want to blame Trump when in fact they need to be looking into the mirror to face the real culprit.

This part is simply not true and there is publicly available date from reputable sources which proves, beyond question, that it's not true.

There is certainly some overlap as a portion of the people who die of the virus would have succumbed to a heart attack, diabetes, or some other disease, but far, far too many healthy people are needlessly dying from COVID alone.

Some overlap? Some? Ok if some means 96% in the USA and 99% according to the Italian Ministry of Health.

I don't know that masks do any good but beyond keeping people afraid they don't do any harm, I've been wearing one in Asia for years because of the air pollution. Covid is not dropping any extra bodies and the total number of dead from all causes proves that beyond question. It's a really bad flu that tears through elderly and infirm populations at a horrific rate and even with that it has an overall recovery rate of 99.74%, it is time to stop treating it like ebola. I'm sorry for your loss, like I said every death is a tragedy to those who loved them but that doesn't change the facts and the facts are that 96% of all covid deaths involved multiple co morbidity. That is a fact. 99.74% of all covid cases have a full and complete recovery, that is a fact. The ONLY European country not experiencing a second wave of cases is the only one that DIDN'T lock down, that is a fact.

400,000,000 people will be forced into extreme poverty due to the economic devastation as a result of the constant fear mongering, that's the entire population, every single fucking person in the USA plus Argentina plus Sweden and how many of them are going to die as a result of malnutrition, crime, lack of clean water, dysentery, no access to medical care? They aren't facts yet but they will be and that is a direct result of covid hysteria because "exponential growth" is scary even though it never happened beyond those risk groups anywhere. Remember when they were talking about Brazil and everybody dying there? Yes, cases, hospitalizations and deaths all in decline. It was a ***** of a bug and the US has one more cold and flu season with it and then it will be over and about half as many people who die from heart disease will have died from it. Then, and this is the fun part, then the world gets to deal with 25 years of lost progress in the third world. Two decades lost. Can you even get your mind around that number of people nearly half a billion people impoverished. I live in those places, I'm watching it happen. After the vaccine comes and you feel safe to go out to dinner without wearing a mask? They will still be digging through garbage for food so you could feel safe.

Only a fool says it's a hoax, but it takes a bigger fool to kill 10 or 20 million through secondary effects to delay, not prevent mind you but delay the deaths of a few hundred thousand.

Seriously stop talking about how far too many healthy people are dying from this because there is no data to support that at all when you use the worlds population as the context for what "far too many" means because you are killing people every time you advance that argument.

I honestly want to know because every one of these people have family just as your loved one did. This isn't Faux News saying this, this isn't a difference of opinion, this is nine million people laying in the streets dying slow painful deaths that could have been avoided if people like you had been willing to accept that Trump won because Hillary sucked.
