If I have a sure thing, I would book at the Marriott branded hotels. A quick check shows quite a few around Southcenter for less than $100, as low as $74. And that is for a Courtyard or Aloft. Heck even the Marriott by the airport is only asking for $90. I know those places are not dumps.

Downside is that you are paying for a night for those rates.

There wasn't any written contract. We had seen each other about a dozen times over the preceding months before this all came about. In practice this all came together kind fortuitously, as she had a job change and I was traveling a lot for business so it just worked out to do this, at least for the time it worked out.

The biggest problem was that she did have some issues dealing with people, which led to some really awkward and weird situations. The best way I could describe it was imagine someone who learned how to adult by watching reality TV shows.
