No, not a Trump fan, but neither do I consider him the Devil Incarnate (as many seem to). This large group extends way beyond junior enlisted folks. You can pretty much include everyone up thru E-7 and at least junior to. Middle management officers. The guys who have the most political flex room are O-6 and above.

Nobody really liked Bush, Jr either. Dubya visited troops for political purposes. He knew he fucked up by having two simultaneous campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan (against advice from top military leadership), so he was trying to dampen his huge mistake by visiting troops while the body bags piled up at Andrews AFB on quiet overnight trips from the battle zones.

The last respectable President, for most, was Reagan.
