Time to throw this one back into the water. I met her about a month ago. Kind of odd how it all played out. I'm splitting this extensive post into two parts. A "brief explanation" and all NOVA / DC girls are detailed below. All others that are somewhat nearby (MD) will be in my follow-up.

I recently changed my approach on Seeking to see what would happen. Previously, I'd message 3-4 different SBs a week--maybe more if I'm traveling for work or on vacation. If there's no response, I'd message new ones while trying again with the previous week's SBs after 10-14 days go by. The latter is dependent on when they're back online and if they've really caught my attention (and if there's still nothing, I cut my losses and move on). In the last couple weeks, I sent out 32 messages thinking that I'll get maybe a couple replies and probably one meet (it had been that kind of a losing streak). However of those 32, I received 16 responses with an additional 7 SBs who initiated the convo!

Needless to say, I was a bit overwhelmed to see so much activity! But as always, that number of potentials dropped off after subsequent follow-ups. It can be difficult to get a read on some of them: who likes / dislikes small talk; who prefers / loathes public meet-and-greets; who has FWB tagged despite not wanting such an arrangement; who's a scam despite a well-written profile; etc. For their convenience, I offered to meet them at any restaurant / cafe near their area and that they can pick the day & time as long as I know a few days in advance (working multiple jobs kinda limits my free time). Meeting in public doesn't only put their mind at ease, but also mine as it helps knowing if they look like their pics and what their expectations are. If they're afflicted with GPS or if I get stood up, at least I'll still have enjoyed great food and explored a new area outside of where I typically visit.

Before I dive further into this novel, know that I've left off some SBs since either I'm holding out hope that it'll eventually work out in my favor (5), or we have blocked one another and I forgot to copy the link. Five potentials is still a lot, so hopefully I'll know within a week or two about who's the golden ticket and who's a bust. Also, many women prefer their digits not to be shared (though I'd gladly do so if one gave me the green light or was acting like a * for no reason). So do the legwork: create a profile, message them yourself, and treat them with respect. Some offer their number, Snapchat, or Kik if you only ask. Most offered without me even asking. I've been texting with her off and on for a while, her attitude / demeanor seems nice enough and we've discussed a few times dinner and then going to my place or getting a room to hook up. But I'm not interested in taking her to dinner if she's going to expect to get paid her donation upfront when we meet up for dinner. So I've tried several different tactics to get her to just meet up at the FC and skipping dinner but she always has a reason to say no or just doesn't respond till the next day. So the fact that she seems so adamant about meeting up in a restaurant first is a huge red flag for me that the cash and dash paranoia is valid.
