Cops cannot legally lie on a police report. They can lie to you to try to coax a confession out of you (like saying your accomplice confessed or some stupid shit) or simply lie to you to get what they want from you, but they can't legally file a false police report. Was posting looking for info on this one a few weeks back. Finally tracked down an old review that seemed good and decided to take the plunge.
